BR RESIDENCE | Ras Al Nabaa, Lebanon
Interior Design

Type: Residential

Status: In Progress

Some homes are built. Others are returned to. This apartment in Ras Al Nabaa belongs to the second kind.

The family had spent years in Dubai before making the decision to come back — to settle, to slow down, and to retire in the Beirut they had always carried with them. The family house was waiting. The refurbishment was not about reinvention. It was about homecoming.

The design brief was shaped by that story. Old pieces belonging to the family, objects accumulated over a lifetime and freighted with memory, were not treated as obstacles to a clean interior. They were treated as the interior's foundation. The refurbishment was built around them, new layers of wood, stone, custom joinery and soft furnishings woven carefully around what was already there and already meaningful.

The apartment is organised into distinct rooms, each with its own atmosphere and its own relationship to the family's history. There is no open plan sweep that flattens everything into one continuous space. Instead, rooms are rooms — places to inhabit separately, to close the door on, to make one's own.

The result is an interior that holds two cities and one family's lifetime within it. Beirut is present in the spirit of the place, in the old objects that have finally found their way home. Dubai is present too, quietly, in the refinement and the care with which everything has been put back together.

A house that remembers.
