Type: Residential

Status: In Progress

ADREA is one of Abu Dhabi's most ambitious cultural institutions, a world-class school of classical horsemanship rooted in Emirati heritage and set within the serene landscape of Jubail Island. Designing within that context demanded an interior language that could hold its own against the institution's depth and gravitas.

The concept for the private event club was grounded in the earth itself. Natural and earthy textures define the atmosphere throughout, with terracotta as the guiding material and the guiding tone. Warm, ancient, and distinctly of this region, terracotta brought an honesty to the spaces that felt appropriate to an institution built on heritage and craft.

The layout was conceived as a promenade. Rather than arriving at a single room, visitors are invited to move through the club, discovering spaces gradually as they go. Each turn reveals something new, a shift in scale, a change in light, a different quality of atmosphere. The journey through the interior is as considered as the destination.

This approach to spatial sequence reflects something of ADREA's own philosophy: that the most meaningful experiences are not presented all at once, but unfolded over time, with patience and intention.
